Since, I was, unfortunately, on my TVD break, I pick up this book again and read it. I should've finished this one a long time ago, because the story is really great. I really love L.J. Smith's novels. I would love to see this on screen also.
So, anyways. I love how the characters have something unique to separate them from each other, but also had something to bind them together. Kaitlyn's character was well-written, so as Rob's and Gabriel's. I wish I would see more character background for Lewis and Anna in the next books. I haven't decided if I'm on Team Rob or Team Gabriel, although I guess I'm leaning more to Gabriel. He kind of reminded me of Damon Salvatore, being mysterious and remote. The story somehow reminded me of The Secret Circle, except that they're psychics and not witches or warlocks.
The aura of an L.J. Smith novel is really distinct. I love that about her writing. Also, the themes may remind you of her other works, but once you get on reading it, it brings you in a completely different dimension.
I can't wait to read the next one!
